Legalisation for Personal Documents
Personal Document includes: Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, Marriage Certificate and Educational Documents.
• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate of Jordan (MOFA).
• Australian Department of Foreign affairs and Trade Australia (DFAT).
• Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand (MFAT).
However, legalisation does NOT confirm the authenticity of the underlying document and does NOT authenticate either the signature on the original document or the content of the original document in any way.
The Consular Section reserves all rights to NOT legalise any document in contrary with Jordanian legislations, public order and morals.
Personal Documents issued in The Hashemite Kingdom Of Jordan must be authenticated solely by The Ministry of Foreign affairs and Expatriates of Jordan (MOFA). The Legalisation fee for such documents is free of charge.
Personal Documents issued in Australia must be authenticated solely by Australian Department of Foreign affairs and Trade of Australia (DFAT).
Personal Documents issued in New Zealand must be authenticated solely by Ministry of foreign affairs and Trade of New Zealand (MFAT).
For legalising universities educational certificates for the purpose of accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education of Jordan, an online application must be submitted on the Ministry of Higher Education prior to legalising the university certificates. A copy of the submitted application MUST be enclosed with the documents.

Legalisation Fees
The Legalisation Fee for Personal Documents is (17.50) AUD per legalisation.
How to make the payment for your legalisation
The fees pay be paid by (Australian Money Order or Bank Cheque) made payable to (Embassy of Jordan).
Or by Debit Card if you attend personally at the consular Section.
Note: Consular fees (including Legalisation) are subject to change without prior notice. Charges collected will reflect the applicable fees on the processing date.
Note: American Express and all types of credit cards are not acceptable.
Lodging and Collection
A pre-paid Australian post self-addressed return envelope (Registered, Express, or priority post only) must be provided,
Or to arrange a pick up by a courier (e.g DHL, FedEx). otherwise, the document can be collected by an authorised person after (3) working days from the date of submission or receiving it.
Note: The Consular Section would strongly recommend you to keep the return delivery tracking number so you can track your document yourself. Please note that the consular Section is NOT responsible for any loss that may happen.

Collection working days: (Monday–Friday) 14:00-15:00.
